Dr. Tiegan Brockway BScVB, BVMS (Hons)
I’ll confess: I’ve been animal-crazy from day dot, and am one of those rare and lucky people who always knew what I wanted to do - the second I learned what a Vet was at age 5, I set about making it a reality, working hard at school and learning lots from owning my own horses, cats and dogs. I finally graduated from Murdoch University in 2005 with honours, and have been happily working as a small animal and bunny Vet ever since. I started working with Sage Vets in February 2011, and am incredibly blessed to have found a home here, one where I’ve been able to let my passion for animal welfare grow and flourish - I even created an in-house charity project called SCARF (Second Chance Animal Rehabilitation Fund) to help less fortunate pets escape unnecessary euthanasia.
I love every aspect of my job - from ear infections to abdominal surgery - and find incredible joy and satisfaction in making the lives of all my patients and clients happier, healthier and free from suffering, pain and stress. I will always try to give the absolute best care to every animal and person that passes through my door, and will love and look after your pets as if they were my own - and trust me, those guys are SPOILT! Right now my fiancee and I have a big, fluffy family of three rescue kitties - LittleBig Cat, Durzo Blint Shadow Assassin and Dora the Explorer - and are expecting to foster and rescue at least one more this year. I’ve also got my heart set on rescuing a greyhound, but I’m holding out for one that loves cats as much as I do!
Jessica Oakes (Registered Veterinary Nurse)
I have been 100% sure since I was young that I was going to one day work with animals. I grew up with many animals including 3 dogs, a German Shepherd, an Alaskan Malamute and a Labrador, 2 talking Pink and Grey Galahs, 2 Lorikeets, and a white and ginger Cat. It took me a few years and moving across the country and many other non animal related qualifications to finally get myself back on track and start doing what I love - caring for animals.
I got my vet nursing qualification in 2014 and started working for Sage Vets in May 2015; which is now merged with Attadale Vet. I have learned so much since I started working here and I have loved every minute of it.
I now share my home with 2 Kelpie x Red Heelers, Angus and Clyde, who keep me very busy as they are balls of energy 24/7.
